About Constabulary

Constabulary magazine is a long-established independent magazine for the 250,000 police employees in the UK.

Founded in the Seventies by a serving police officer, to this day it remains the largest police magazine written primarily by serving and retired police officers. Its current editor-in-chief, Christopher Locke, is a former police officer who was also a police trainer in the Nineties.

For many years Christopher has been regularly granted exclusive interviews with home secretaries, Directors of Public Prosecutions, chief constables and senior politicians. He has also visited and conducted exclusive interviews with chief police officers from around the world, including India, USA and Hong Kong.

In addition to national and local police news, Constabulary contains articles about police technology, training, health, motoring and police sport.

It is distributed internally through police stations throughout the UK and also to courts, Crown Prosecution Service offices, Centrex (police training), the Home Office, military and other police forces.

Copies are also sent via subscription to police forces throughout the world and articles are regularly translated into other languages and reproduced in official police magazines.

Constabulary has for many years been one of the main vehicles for police transferee recruitment and also for promoting a wide range of police schemes and discounts in the areas of motor, house, medical and other insurances. There are in addition to credit card, loans and other financial services, many of which are either exclusive to police employees or offering them special rates.
