Body-mapping proves a success

A man who robbed an Evesham bookies was caught by the latest body-mapping technology, which also connected him to a separate burglary.

West Mercia detectives sent CCTV and ID procedure footage
to a Cambridge expert who, using the latest body-recognition
technology, confirmed it was the same man in both sets
of film.

DC Pete Sherwood said:“Amongst many other enquiries
we decided to use facial and body-mapping techniques
to identify the offender in the Corals robbery, not a routine
process used in investigations.

“The procedures’ effectiveness in this case proved crucial
as it became a key part of the prosecution.

“This was a serious offence in which the man used a knife and
caused much distress to those working at Corals at the time so
we are extremely pleased with the result.”
